Butcher us Then Leave Us to Rot
I am totally pissed right now. I've just been denied my surgery because they said the doctors did not send in the required information in the right amount of time (which is a lie) and they can't see where it is medically necessary for me to have this surgery. If I want to send in more documents or my PCP can prove that I need this surgery -- My damn PCP doesn't even know what it is or believe in it. He just requested it because I want    it and I had him speak with Dr. Houser. Well I am going to appeal this freaken thing because I am SO DAMN TIRED OF SWALLOWING THIS CRAP every freaken day of my life. I am DAMN ANGRY Valerie

You'll appeal and you'll win.

See a Lawyer Val. There is ample evidence that proves you need this procedure. If you do it right I would think that they have to pay your legal costs too.

I went that route already; by the time I found someone I was 6 months over the statute of limitations -- anyway, its been 9 years now (lol). Valerie

007 is referring to putting a lawyer to work against the insurance company. A simple firm and assertive letter from yuor lawyer to the insurance company may work wonders, and what a letter might not do, a threat to sue might.

Oh, I misunderstood. But my PCP's office called today and said she had reached Dr. Houser's secretary and at the time she was in the process of sending the documentation to the insurance company that they claim they did not get. Maybe that will help. I asked Dr. Houser to call the doctor on the letter I received, as it said, so I hope he calls. That may do it. Valerie

Keep persisting, Val - sooner or later it will happen. Maybe a lawyer at your office can look at it? I hope it goes more smoothly this time. What do they mean you did not send stuff "in time?" There should not be a limit on when you can request approval for this surgery! Once this happened to me (on my first ill fated surgery!) and it took a couple months for my doctor to send the letter of medical necessity plus tests or something. Keep your hopes and spirits up :) Thinking of you, Erika
