Constant Frontal Sinus Pressure
Hi, My name is Jim and I stumbled upon this website during my on-going, exhaustive search to find a possible cause for my problem. I only know what little I've read on this site, so please bear with me. Here is the Reader's Digest version of my story: I suffer from constant sinus pressure in my forehead, right between my eyes. When I say constant, I mean that I wake up with it, it is with me all day and I go to bed with it....I never have relief from it. It first came on about 6 years ago, approximately 6 months after sinus surgery that included a Maxillary Antrostomy and Turbinectomy. It was the first of 3 surgeries I would have, each of which removed some tissue. The pressure began as pretty infrequent and barely noticeable, but about a year after the first surgery, it became a daily occurrence. It has gotten worse over time, and today is ever present and has effected my quality of life. I will spare you the long list of possible remedies I've tried, all to no avail. Nothing I have tried has had any effect on the constant pressure. I would do anything to solve this problem. After reading the symptoms of ENS, it is quite possible that is what I suffer from. I have often wondered if the removal of all that tissue could have created some imbalance in the air pressure within my sinuses...and based on what I've read here, it appears it can. But, how do you find out for sure. Is there some kind of test that can be performed to confirm that this is what is causing the problem? I would only agree to more surgery if I was certain that I had found out the cause of the pressure. Also, I live in California, so if you know of a good ENT out here that has experience with ENS, I would love to have his/her name. Thank you in advance for reading this and for any advice you can offer that may help me find relief. Jim
