ENS after all Having had my post-op scans examined by Dr. Houser and TE, I doubted I had ENS--although I have/had many other health issues arising from the surgery. I thought I had, at most, ENS-type. As it turns out, my turbinates were grossly swollen for five months post-op due to a severe hospital-acquired infection. The CT scans were thus skewed.
When I saw the ENT a few weeks ago, a resident prepared me for an endoscopic exam which turned out to be unnecessary. The ENT, looking into my nose, said he could see my sinuses perfectly because my turbinates had shrunk so much.
He asked how my breathing was. I told him I had some problems. They are no where near as bad as they were when I had the infection, but they are bad. I believe I do have ENS.
I am absolutely horrified that these surgeries are being done--as one poster put it--because they are "the bread and butter" of the ENT business. When did maiming and destroying human beings for money become a profession? I had absolutely no sinus issues before this surgery. Not only is this a profession, but the most revered profession in our society. It appears to be peopled by a significant number of con artists and people without consciences. And why not? What a great "cover" the white coat makes.
Something needs to be done. I will fight for the truth.

Couldnt agree with you more. Just remember we are generalising here, as there are some (and it looks like a minority few) that are conscienscious.
Its hard to accept this though, as it seems so many ENTs are prepared to hurt or make mistakes, but whats worse is that they wont admit this and resort to hurting the patient even further through denial or even accusations that the patient has 'other' issues.

It is sickening...! Especially since so many new people are still coming out of the woodwork. And doctors are still prepared to sweep it straight under that that dirty carpet.
