How Long Before Plastic Surgery? Dr. Houser,
October 30, I had septoplasty, turbinate reduction and sinus surgery. This was followed by four months of infection, nose collapse and learning that the antrum of the mucosa has been stripped out.
I have dryness and breathing difficulty.
How long do you think I need to wait before having plastic surgery to rebuild my nose? This will include rebuilding of the septum.
Thank you.

There is no exact number, but would think it OK to proceed now although it is best to have the infection under control.

The infection has been under control since late February.
With the surgery I am considering, how likely am I to be thrown backward into intense ENS symtpoms? I still have symtpoms, but they were unmanageable for four months. Am I likely to experience a worsening of symptoms? ? Am I risking a permanent worsening of symptoms?
Thank you.

It is possible that your nasal cavity is collapsed, hence minimizing your ENS, and opening it will worsen your ENS. This could be overcome though with implantation if that indeed occurs. It is only a possibility, not a certain event.
