It is rough I know. Although I don't feel I was butchered badly during my surgery about 30 years ago, I do experience the same debilitating symptoms of ENS - not due to turbinectomy, but have nonetheless wound up with a chronically dry, and apparently underfunctioning nose. Like you, the problem has progressed further down to involve the broncii and lungs. Likewise, room humidification only helps me partially. -But one of the best remedies I've found for use when I'm suffering most is to breathe through a small lightweight terry cloth that's folded over a few times. As I'm typing this I have one over my nose and mouth, held in place by a piece of elastic that's clipped to the terry cloth (I've small alligator clips attached to each end of the elastic). Functionally, it's like an extension to the nose, and helps by catching and holding some of the moisture and warmth of the breath as you exhale, then that moisture gets pulled back in with inhalation. Regular dust filter masks have a similar effect, but they get uncomfortable and a bit too restrictive for me. -Though if a major part of your problem is lack of restriction (some restriction on inhalation helps clear the lungs by creating a partial vacuum, and on exhalation by creating light pressure to fill the alveoli), then you might try a dust filter mask or create a bit more restriction by adding another layer of terry cloth - or use terry cloth on top of the dust mask. The more layers, the more moisture and warmth that will be saved. Some of the moisture of course collects on and is drawn back off of the nose and face skin surface areas that're under the cloth. I've been wearing mine for several hours now, and it's providing it's usual relief - moisturizing, and greatly relaxing and deepening my breathing..
I also often use the simple old trick of pulling the neck of my t-shirt or sweatshirt up over my nose and breathe through that a while as necessary. With this you're rebreathing more of your exhaled air though, so you need to occasionally open it up and exchange the air.

Broken girl,
Where are you from? Are you very far from Dr. Houser? Seeing him gave me more hope to get through this. Do you have the Grossan irrigator or the Neil Med sinus wash bottle. I do that rinse morning and night and that does give me some relief, even for only a little while. If I'm extremely dry, like lately with this dry cold weather, I'll use the Nozoil spray(sesame oil) We understand what you are going through and we are right there with you. Hang in there!
