Implant update
I had an implant done 4 weeks ago. For the first 2 weeks I thought I was cured. Even though I was extra swollen from surgery, I didn't have to strain to talk!! Well, for about the last week + 1/2 I'm I'm straining to talk again. It's almost like being back at square one. What an extreme! I'm trying to stay positive, however, from all this anxiety I got sick.

Stay positive. I think you need to give it much more time. Valerie

How about your other sx? Such as dryness, etc. I hope the best for you, Matt

I went to my PCP today because I have a fever of 102 now. Dr. Houser recommended I see him because he does not think my nose is infected (+ I live in NC). The doctor did blood work and told me I have a virus. . I do not have any pain in the back of my nose, drainage is clear + good w/ very little swelling. No cough, sore throat or sneezing. I only have a high fever, body aches + am sweating like crazy! I hope this passes soon. I'll keep you posted.

Had my implant today and am having trouble sleeping the first night. I have a follow up in the morning then heading home. I think that the crusting and blood has closed up the side with the implant. My throat is in the most pain from the tube they inserted during surgery.

Mailman Well congrats on taking a big first step towards wellness! What area of you nose did the implant go into? Does it feel huge? Is your nose temporarily closed completely? Very painful? Hoping for the best for you and please keep us updated! best, Matt

Nose does feel closed and there is not much pain. The most pain is in my throat from the tube. I dont know where he inserted it but I am going now for a follow up.

Hey Mailman, Just seeing how the recovery is going. I know it's only been a couple of days. Did you find out where you had your nose implanted?

mailman- 06-08-2007

I had it on the lateral wall I believe. This is day #2 and I have some swelling and not much pain. My breathing seems to be better now that my right side is closed up some. Dr. said he inserted the largest piece he could.

Mailman, again how much turbinate did you have remaining on each side. Was it just ITS

SnowCat- 06-10-2007

Mailman, how much inferior turbinates did you have left before the implants?
