inconsiderate things ens ignorate people say
Let keep adding to this list with what we hear from others... "It's all in your head" --ironicly, it's what's not in my head " I don't know....your some kind of freak of nature."---gee thanks doc, I feel better all ready "your expectations are too high"---ya, that's it, i'm the problem "mind over matter" --gee wish I thought of that. "everything looks fine" ---I'm not worried about how it looks!

"your nose is moist" - oh thats good Im just imagining that it is bone dry here are some good ones from my family: "maybe you should see a therepist" - well maybe, but not because i am imagining not being able to breath through my nose "its just your allergies" - even my ent said it wasn't "why are you reading posts from some doctor i've never heard of" - you had heard of the ent I went to before my surgery? sigh

jdog- 04-18-2007

" you need to relax more" --Exactly how am I susposed to do that? "I feel like I cant breath!" ...."Your breathing right now"---note the word 'feel', guess they didn't teach that in med school. "you need to stop seeing doctors" -- If you did your job I wouldnt need to keep coming back. "I'm in pain" ... "I dont understand"...Isn't that kinda your job? or do I need to go to med school to teach it to you.

"just breathe deep" "Inhale, and relax, repeat" "aren't you obsessing about your nose" "I don't see what the big deal is, it's just your nose."

I did go see Dr. Houser and was going to get an implant, but I decided that it wouldn't help me since, I hardly have any inferior turbinates left, and it would be difficult to attach the alloderm or any other implant material into my lateral nasal wall where the inferiors were. I am not negative, my other post on here was quoting what other people have said to me. If I am so negative, I wouldn't even be in college trying to better my future. I don't know if I told anyone this, but I am planning to study law after I graduate. Wish me luck everyone.

3, Dr Houser has no problems "attaching" Alloderm implants in your nose. It's implanted into your septum and/or nasal floor instead of into your turbinates, when you don't have enough ITs left. This is a well documented and supported procedure for atrophic rhinitis, aided by better guiding for a better result in airflow sensation, by the cotton test. These implants might have to be reinforced with some more material over the years, but Dr Houser's follow-up results show that they help. You have every right to make up you're own mind about doing it or not, but please stop spreading around false information. We've discussed this before - your fears are only your fears, they are not supported by the facts. Good luck with your legal career. It's the best place to learn how to separate a private opinion from fact. Good choice.

I have no clue how I spread any false information in that post I made before this one. All I said or meant to say was it would be difficult for Dr. Houser to attach an implant into my lateral wall and if I ever want to get an implant in the future, I want it to be in the lateral wall not the septum.

TE- 05-03-2007

3, Dr Houser has no problems implanting Alloderm into the lateral wall too. He simply prefers, in cases where there are not enough IT's left to be augmented, to implant it into the septum instead, because there are many studies confirming long-term success with implants to the septum and nasal floor, yet hardly any studies of implants to the lateral wall. Friedman tried to augment the lateral wall in cases of total IT resection and met with unstable results. Your conviction that nothing but lateral wall implantation won't help you is precisely what is misinformed and un-factual. Therefore all I was asking was for you to kindly make it clear that when you state an opinion which is un-supported by facts, simply add that it is your own un-supported opinion. If you would ask Dr Houser if implanting the septum will help you I'm sure he'll tell you it would, based on his research study, and many other implant studies of atrophic rhinitis which showed success with a whole range of materials. It seems that what offers the relief is not so much the material used, but the size, shape and location of the implant. The material and technique of implantation are important interms of determining the longevity of the relief achieved.
