Microdebrider Technique
Hi Dr Houser... Both of my surgeries were done with the microdebrider but my question is are there different techniques that a surgeon can use with the debrider? The one I always hear about is the sub-mucosal. js

yes, a microdebrider can be used extramucosal - take mucosa away with the submucosa, or below the mucosa - to take away just the submucosa

Which one is the best or which one do you prefer and why? js

submucosal is always best; removal of mucosa is best avoided.
