More and more doctors
I went in to a late night walk in clinic.. I needed a sedative to put me to sleep I hadnt slept properly in a few days.. and the anxiety associated with that made things worse.. Doctor says whats wrong.. I comlain about inability to sleep adn breathing probs.. all I need really is a stronger sedatative.. like larozepan to put me to sleep..as valerian was not effective.. Why does your nose hurt.. ? Turbs feel very dry and painful? Doc..did recent surgery. Well the tubs are a benign useless mass of tissue that block the airway. that cant be your problem. I disagree with you doctor.. Doctor is cold ... how dare I question him Prescribes me a steroid spray (haha.. to dilate my nose!) I refuse it. I tell him I have done a lot of research and know what I need to be taking. Puts me on a heart machine.. to check my heartbeat.. normal .. Geez.. got the pill got to sleep feeling much better today.. I really dont think doctors understand the compexity of nasal issues.. the prescribe someting random.. that might work for 80 percent of the population or at least not kill them.

to me doctors just want you out, they prescribe the same medicine over and over. i personally think they get some sort of kick if they prescribe some medicine that a company needs them to or something..also i went to see a doctor once and he looked up my nose with a light(just a light)and said wow Tony your nose looks so wet I think you should be complaining about how wet it is,as I'm sitting there telling the idiot my nose is dry as hell... If there not giving you pain meds, there giving you anxiety meds or antibitocs... IDIOTS...lol

I agree with all the statements. All the ENTs, that's all four, said my nasal cavity is wide and moist, I should have no problem breathing. Especially the last one I saw who operated on me twice. I just think he doesn't want to admit he could be wrong, on top of that, can't blame them when they collectively agree there's nothing wrong. My general physicians is so hestitant to send me to another ENT, but keeps mentioning anti-whatever pills. All I'm doing is getting him to document everything I'm feeling, including all the research I printed. I understand that they can't predict the long term outcome, but I'm the one who's having to pay for sleep -*test*-('"), medicine and equiptment, and next years visit to Dr.Houser, and maybe alloderm implants just because of their negligence. I hope the Canadian dollar stay this strong till next summer or fall, can't blame me for hoping.

I couldn't begin to tell you guys how many doctors I went to in 9 years who all said (if they saw the scans) there is nothing wrong with you, you should be breathing fine, your nose is WIDE open (lol). In the next breath its, "maybe you should go see someone about your problem" (we all know what that means). Same thing if I went to the ER late at night. The problem with my nose would aggravate my asthma; so by the time I got there, all they were interested in doing was taking care of my asthma, didn't even want to discuss my nose. I thought I was going to freak out. I finally stopped going to the ER room and ENTs. They are all jerks. If I was scared and panicky, I took something to calm myself down -- going to the doctor was a complete waste of my time.

I find it funny that before the surgery i told the doctor i breathed just fine how would the surgery help and he told me i had a breathing problem and i just didnt know it. well now i have a breathing problem and he doesnt know it.... ugh....

robneedsleep- 10-05-2007

what bugged me was that in both surgery, I was operated on the inferior turbinate on both sides, when I complain about the inflamation on my right. I would have thought logically the operation would be only on the right side, why touch the left when it's perfectly fine. butterfly001, are you talking about the Flonase spray, that was prescribe early on quite frequently for me. Kept telling them, it didn't help me at all.

canada110- 10-05-2007

guys my surgery was werid also,i told the meathead that my left side was really blocked and it was giving me pressure this was after septoplast and my inferiors were intact 100 percent..so i wake up after turby surgery to realize my right side now is completely wide open and the left side is still kinda blocked..when dr h told me i have basically all the front part of the inferors on both sides and the back was missing approx 30 on the left and 70 on the right i'm like ummm really the left was the problem..lol i laugh sometimes at how dumb they are but then i realize he probably made like 10grand doing my fricking nose..he's laughing now..

when doctors say "theres nothing wrong with you" and you still suffer from life altering symptoms, from my personal experiences with this disease, they are pretty much saying you have ENS or AR but won't say it directly to you or diagnose it because once too much turbs are taken out theres nothing much they can do.. They just say theres nothing wrong because 1 you already look like a worried person and 2 because its not like cancer where its necessarily killing you so they don't feel obligated to tell you... atleast thats how I feel from my personal experiences but i think thats so wrong because them not being upfront wasted so much time for me to actually seek lawsuit against the doctor who took out the turbs in the frist place..

canada110- 10-08-2007

I think the reason there not telling you is cause no doctor wants to admit there is an issue so you can proceed with legal action..i know the doctor i have now who said who won't touch turbinates would say why he wouldnt.he has also never really said my problem is related to that just said wow your one trubnate looks small and then he said but you have all your mt's and superios so your better than some i've seen and that's it..i guess he needs to protect the other doctor and himself cause there in it together casue if they turn on eachother than they have nothing

trapped3- 10-08-2007

its because most of them are in the same board... plus you got to think even doctors are considered a business, they dont want to waste their time getting involved in legal cases takes up too much time.. thts why i think dr houser is great and provide honest answers because you know he isn't in the same board as doctors you've been seeing unless you are in the ohio area..

legal issue or not alot of hospitals wont touch the turbinates anymore but will still not diagnose or treat ENS. We are not expendable we need to keep our voices heard. Like it or not they are not diagnosing us out of fear. We can use that to help our cause. The only power we dont have is the power they convince us to give up. Lets not let them do that. If they fear the reality of ENS then we have power and we need to use it. I still think we need to focus on letting your local pain clinics know your there, the more other specialties know of us the harder it will be for ENT's not to acknowledge it. Like it or not only the ENT's know of this and they are not as a community going to acknowledge this. We also need to keep pushing for more research and keep supporting dr. like houser.

canada110- 10-08-2007

i agree,i'm not into it for a law suit i would just like some help with the problems like you all i hope...

robneedsleep- 10-09-2007

because its not like cancer where its necessarily killing you so they don't feel obligated to tell you... atleast thats how I feel from my personal experiences but i think thats so wrong because them not being upfront wasted so much time for me to actually seek lawsuit against the doctor who took out the turbs in the frist place.. These doctors don't think far into the future of what catastrophic domino affects it may cause for the individual who does have ENS/AR. Below is an exerpt I wrote for my general physician to document. "I have considered the consequences of some of the long-term effects and dangers of sleep deprivation over many years or decades. Excessive sleep deprivation and lack of energy, which greatly impairs social relations with friends, family, and possible significant other, contributes to unwanted depression and anxiety. Cognitive impairment, high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, stroke, congestive heart failure, type 2 diabetes, and glaucoma are possible examples of some of the severe health development. Operating high-risk machinery or driving is another dangerous examples. I am always in a state of fatigue mode both physically and mentally, thus to maintain focus while doing normal task takes effort. It is a vicious cycle, which an individual cannot escape and feel completely helpless. In my case, I wish I could find a better paying job. Since I am not fully rested every night, I am constantly in fear that with greater mental responsibilities, that I would not perform satisfactory to any new employer’s expectation. Worst, if I cannot perform well at my employment, I can be terminated, which is the very same source of income I need to pay for the treatments to concentrate better at work." I know most folks on this forum will have different degree of severity, and in my case sleep is by far the biggest issue for a decade. I just know if nothing is done to alleviate my problem, it'll be more than just an annoyance but a fatality. All the doctors I've seen are just watching out for each other to keep their credibility.

has anyone examines your for CFIDS (chronic fatigue syndrome)?

robneedsleep- 10-09-2007

no, but I am diagnose with mild sleep apnea. I have another sleep -*test*-('") coming up next Tuesday using a CPAP w/humidifier and full mask. I basically suffocated during the previous -*test*-('") with a nasal mask not to mentioned it was dry because the CPAP didn't have a humidifier. All I know is every night I wake up a few time with rapid heartbeat, and when I wake up in the morning, it's like I took a nap only, barely rested. How do they determine chronic fatigue syndrome anyway?
