My Video Testimonial
I have done a couple of video -*test*-('")imonials of my experiences on behalf of ENS, one in 2007 and a recent one that was made before the deadlines. The problem with the latter one was that the graphics were terrible. So I bought another webcam that offers a better quality picture. I sort of liked them, but frankly, I want to do a video that is more concise and focused. I plan to upload mine to youtube in the coming days, and I'll post back here once it is done. Thanks are in order to all who have taken part in this effort of raising awareness through videos. This effort is critical, the -*test*-('")imonials are powerful, and youtube could be huge for ENS awareness. It's great to see videos by Kathy, TE, Valerie and Carol on youtube. I look forward to seeing videos by Soko, Matt, JR, and hopefully by David and jdog soon. And I'll upload mine in coming days as well.

Folks, I'm sure you have all read Dr Houser's message from yesterday: Sadly, the course on ENS I submitted to the AAO-HNS annual meeting for 9/08 was turned down. It would have had good exposure to a lot of ENT docs across the country. Dr Houser is sharing his sadness and disappointment with you here in his humble way, but what he is not telling you is why his proposed course on ENS was turned down. The reason it was turned down is because ENS awareness has began in the past year or so to dramatically increase thanks to Dr Houser's activities and ours. We have been heard, and this worries some of the officials that are heading the ENT community like in the American Academy Of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery and similar other bodies. We have raised just enough noise for the turbinators to hear our cry and to get them worried. Now they are trying to fight back and hush us up. They are sending Dr Houser a clear message telling him - this ENS thing is exaggerated, over rated and perhaps doesn't really even exist. Our video -*test*-('")imonials are essential for winning this battle. They will not be able to shut Dr Houser up - if we upload many ENS -*test*-('")imonial videos onto you-tube. This is your way to pay back your respect and appreciation to Dr Houser for standing by us and trying to help us for so long. It's now or never. Please post your videos on You Tube now - no matter how crappy, short or poor quality you think they are. Afraid of exposure? - don't mention your name and hide under a large hat or simply wear a cap and pull down the hood over your eyes and nose (like in this example - http://youtube.com/user/lonny1970). But, upload your videos on to You tube now please. Do not wait. Show your support in Dr Houser today!!!

I just read the message, didn't know that Dr. Houser's course was turned down. I feel simply awful. Dr. Houser has stood by us these past few years, he has answered whatever questions we asked of him -- that he could and to reward him -- we have a total of about 5 or 6 videos on YouTube. This is very disappointing. I can feel his disgust. I may seem to have turned around in the past couple of weeks, but I guess I've gotten pretty excited because I see what exposure can do for us. But we have over 300 members on this forum; imagine having 300 videos on YouTube. I don't think that can be overlooked. I think I feel some of your frustrations in the fact that nothing seems to be getting done in terms of bringing awareness to the public re: ENS -- but please, if you can find the time (hell, make the time), please do a very short video of what you have endured in your suffering with Empty Nose Syndrome. It is so important. I don't want to badger anyone, I just want you to understand, we have suffered a lot. We need more publicity, so please "make these videos". I received an email from my PCP doctor today indicating that he wished to view my video. If you knew the kind of hell I went through trying to get this doctor to understand what I was going through -- then you would understand my thrill at receiving this email from him. Members, write to the doctors you have seen in reference to ENS who blew you away. Try and get them all to view these videos. We may be able to pull them over to our side yet. Thanks. :x

Valerie, Thanks for the generous comments. TE has been assisting with editing the website, and I came to this website this evening to find my video -*test*-('")imonial on the home page of the site. That was very kind or mean? (just kidding :lol:). But more than that, I hope my -*test*-('")imonial would encourage others to do one as well. If we could get 30 or more videos on youtube, the media just might start picking up this issue. These video -*test*-('")imonials are so important, powerful and meaningful. I'm in awe after watching the videos by TE, Valerie, Kathy, and Carol - and the ones that were done by Soko, Matt, JR, and Kris. I hope these latter ones will be posted to youtube very soon, because we need them there. These are all just great and touch home to the issues so many of us experience. Some in the ENT community would prefer us to just disappear, but that will not be the case. I and others who do these videos will make sure of it. Please join me in making a short video that will go a long distance for ENS awareness......

Thank you so much for the kind comments. May we lean on each other for strength and support and may others not have to expereince the suffering we have.

This is an appeal to all forum members who have not yet uploaded their videos on to You-Tube: It's one thing not to make a video. People have all kind of excuses and I can understand that. But what I cannot accept is that people do not post comments and feedbacks on You-Tube. Yes Yuo have to register on You Tube to do that. But like on this forum - the registration is free and you don't need to use your real name. I simply will not tolerate the fact that only a few (mainly me and PVPRICE) who bother to post comments on You-Tube. It doesn't cost you anything. Where is your sense of solidarity. Do you want the ENTs to see that only the same two or three people are commenting all the time... so they can argue - see ENS is not really real... ??? !

I agree with TE; we can't forever twist your arms and I think of lot you are really frustrated by the fact that we have not really caught the public's eye yet. But we are getting there. A year ago you could not hardly find anything about Empty Nose Syndrome online. Now there are loads of things. If you would, as TE said, at least post, people, ENT's, would realize that there are more people out there suffering with this disorder. Please do not suffer in silence, make your presence known. I know you are angry, sad, depressed -- BUT DO SOMETHING, don't wallow in your self pity. Believe me it will only get worse. I got up this morning and it took everything I had. Why? Because I felt terrible, and I was wallowing in it, but I took my little pill (lol) yes, I need a pill -- and I am on my way. Please, please come together. Valerie
