Scott, Wow! That's a lot of questions all at once. You'll find answers to most of your questions just by browsing this site. Most ENS sufferers have extreme nasal dryness, increased mucus production, crusting in their nose, their nose feels too open, decreased sense of smell, etc. Chris Martin has written an excellent book on ENS. I purchased it prior to my implant surgery and found it very informative. I would recommend you get a copy of it to help you better understand ENS.

Hi Scott, Have you been to the ENS informational website yet? You might want to visit their description page: http://emptynosesyndrome.org/ens.html

hi all new to the forum...is there a reduction in peak flow with shortness of breath associated with ens? also do you feel pressure on/in your nose especially when walking and sometimes turning head? I do feel this. Not sure of the reason yet though. I expect the septum is too free to move around now, but don't know. if there is crusting where does that occur in the nasal valve or the nostrils? I get it in both areas. do the majority of ens patients have dryness and sleep problems? Yes. I'm on seroquel for sleep now, which has really helped. when you talk or try to project your voice do you feel a pressure or like a strain feeling near your nose on the side? do your allergies always get worse? can you have pressure at the roof of your mouth also when i swallow i feel more pressure in my nose most of the time what are other symptoms that is with the majority of ens patients? I'm not sure on some of the other questions. My biggest problems are pain, nerve pain, dryness, crusting, and sleep.
