Vitamin A and D for ENS/smell
I am new to this site and finally realized that I am not alone nor crazy (which I feel I'm headed toward a mental breakdown, if I can't get any relief). I suffer with the majority of ENS along with a horrible smell that seems to coming from my sinuses and gets worse if I drink alcohol. I take a multi-vitamin. Will additional vit A and D help? If so, how much more should I take? I know vit A can be toxic if taken to much. Any information of how to treat smell and dryness would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again, Patricia

patricia, I read the description you gave Dr Houser and it sounds like you are suffering from Ozena. You need to find someone who is an authority on that and begin immediate treatment of antibiotics to couter it's effects. You should also send Dr Houser your CT scans for evaluation if you could be helped by implants after you get the Ozena under control. The Ozena is made worse by the dryness you have which seems to be caused by a middle turbinatectomy, uncinectomy and frontal ethmoidectomy you had, which many here have had, and in addition your allergy drugs seem to add to that. This is where the implants might help, but it is of first priority to "kill" that ozena infection, if indeed you have it (which can be verified by a simple mucosal biopsy taken of the suspected infected mucosa).
