1.) How much of which turbinates was resected?
About 40-50% of both IT and MT. These were to the heads of the turbinate. It looks like the surgeon might have also performed surface cautery on the remaining tissue, so I don't know how much mucousa is left.
2.) Did you have other structures removed?
Bilateral Antrostomy, Uncinate process bilaterally and bone from septum.
3. Do you have other relevant over-lapping physical problems that may exacerbate or cause some of your nasal symptoms?
No.
4. What are your main post-turbinectomy symptoms?
Paradoxical obstruction along with lack of resistance to lungs (shortness of breath, tight lungs). Dryness of nose, pharynx, larynx. Lack of concentration. |

I do get stress headaches (neck pain). This is definitely definitely due to sniffing dry mucous all the time because of lack of airflow sensation and sticky mucous blocking my breathing. This only started recently for me however (maybe the winter is causeing more dryness). _________________ I am not a qualified medical professional. These are my personal views only. |
