Hi.

I had a cosmetic rhinoplasty and, ever since, have not been able to breathe and feel constant pressure in my ears .

I feel the problem stems from my nasal bones or frontal maxilla being overly infractured(sorta the "opposite" of empty nose syndrome.) However, a doctor recomended turbinate reduction and nasal valve stinting as a corrective.

I took his advice.

Now, I still cant breathe, and still have the ear pressure.... and, IN ADDITION, the air coming into my nose feels weird. Before I could not get enough air, but the quality of air I could get in was satisfactory, now the air feels dry and the trajectory of the air feels wrong and uncomfortable. Also, the air feels overly dry. Now I have constant crusting in my nasal pharynx

These symptyms i did not have before the most recent surgery.

He did not remove my turbinates during that recent second surgery; here is what he did to my nose:

Coblation of the left inferior turbinate, 3 passes if the coblator
then outfracture of the turbinate

coblation submucus resection of the contralateral right inferior turbinate.
Again, outfracture of the inferior turbinate.

Can I get empty nose syndrome from that?

Need help, Please answer

can someone please answer my question?
Could I have developed ENS from so "minor" an adjustment?

Can my turbinates be "put back" to where they were?

Can they regenerate?

What is the next step for me?

I am so angry the doctor messed with my turbinates knowing the dangers that posed. I specifically asked, and he specifically said that my conservative operation could not cause ENS, and yet I find myself with the symptoms.

Please help, someone

Sounds just like my story. Except I didn't have a cosmetic surgery first. I am sorry Sad I don't have the expertise or knowledge to answer your questions in full, but I would say it sounds like your nose is crippled to an extent. Though given your procedures, it is probably improvable.

~Good luck

If you feel like there is too much space and heavy breathing makes you feel like suffocation ENS may be the best way to describe it.

However if you just had the surgery it also could be part of the healing process.

You need to find an ENS freindly doctor and let him examine it.

I wouldnt go back to the doctors that let that happen but thats just my two cents.

my story was similar as well (not cosmetic though)
