OK.. I know this is gonna sound a little wierd ... and I must say that perhaps I may have a psychological problem I'm unaware of but I was just wondering if any of you ENS victims feel that your love towards people in general (family , friends, etc.) as decreased after having this difficulty.

This idea came to my head when I started realizing that perhaps the solution is not curring ENS but beiing able to live with normal feelings even with this condition.

Let's start with the notion that one as to love himself to be happy. Than there is the idea that in order to love others you must love yourself. Let's say you want to love yourself but can't because your not breathing correctly !! Isn't safe to say that you will automatically love your self less and by incidence you will start to neglect other to to focus and obsess on your situation??

Do any of you noticed such a change in your personallity's? I know this might be just a personnal problem I have and not a ENS type of psychological symptom but isn't breathing essentiel to make you feel happy on this earth basicelly! It's not that I hate people now , I 'm just less sensitive and responsive to their feelings like if I was too much neutral...

Any kind of physical/psychological suffering can definitely make you more introspective- and less attentive to those you love etc. I have noticed this change as well- It's really hard for me to even contact my freinds, be around family, etc.

But I think this is something that can be improved upon ElieG:) You have to pretend to be the person you want to be- even if it feels completely un natural at first. I'm beginning to think that the neural connections in turbinate tissue have so much to do with proper mental function- probably much more than science understands at this time!

I need to get some sleep, but tomorrow I will post some stuff ive found, that could potentially help deal with the mental side effects. Until then- goodnight!Smile

It definitely affects your mental state, concentration and care factor. You have so much to deal with personally, so of course its going to be hard to deal with others.

Improving this as Bailey said is definitely helpful.

I was looking stuff up about how turbinates affect personality etc..because I have been having a hard time connecting to people. I came across some weird webpage about people who are totally anti-doctors, anyway some swami had attested to teh fact that he had known soe people who had surgeries on teh nose, he didn't say what type, afterwards they were very different. He believes that the noes is highly connected to personality and that it will chaneg one. Also Freud knew about this. He sent a woman who was a hysteric to an ENT who was a close personal friend of his.. Freud instructed him to remove her turbinates which he did. Afterwards her hysteria was gone. Not that she was OK after that. She actually almost died and half her face was destroyed because of teh surgery. It took her many many yers to somewhat recover enough to live a semblance of a normal life again. Freay...
